Gorilla Tracking Uganda Safari

Day 1 (Kampala-Bwindi 530km)
At Entebbe international airport you will be met by one of your guides who will warmly welcome you and brief you about your safari. Depending on the time of your flight you can get a quick tour of Kampala city. After that you will be dropped at the hotel of your choice; Serena/Sheraton Hotel for the up market accommodation, Hotel Africana for medium class accommodation and Namirembe guest house for budget accommodation.

Day 2 Gorilla Tracking in Uganda
After breakfast head south west having a stop at the Equator then ascend through the rolling green hills of the Switzerland of Uganda with beautiful scenery and terraced farming to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas the Montane Forest also attracts spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. The nature walk will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and a chance to see Primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue monkeys and others species. Spend the night at either Gorilla Forest Camp for up market accommodation, Lake Kitandara Tented Camp or Buhoma Homestead for Medium class accommodation or UWA Community Bandas for budget accommodation. (Full Board).

Day 3
Head straight for Gorilla tracking in the dense rain forest. Depending on the movements of the Gorillas, walking varies from 20 minutes to a whole day. The exercise requires enough energy to go up and down the mountains including steep slopes. The activity is very captivating and perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences remember there are only 650 left in the world! It involves walking in the wilderness in search of these great apes. It can be a challenging activity therefore physical fitness is an advantage. It is an inspiring and wonderful adventure. Spend the night at the lodge.
In the afternoon relax at the Camp or an option of taking a forest walk. Overnight at either Gorilla Forest Camp for up market accommodation, Lake Kitandara Tented Camp or Buhoma Homestead Medium class accommodation or UWA Community Bandas for budget accommodation. (Full Board).

Day 4
After breakfast head back to Kampala with a stop over in Mbarara town for lunch. Spend the night in Kampala.

Day 5
Transfer to the airport depending on the time of your flight.

Depending on your schedule you could combine this safari with a 3 day safari of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
